Epsom salt V-day candle

Check out my new weekend link party "wonderful weekend" going on now until Sunday night! Let's get the word out and get some more link ups! =]

Here's another easy Valentine's idea that anyone can do!

Supplies:

- candle

- Epsom salt

- glitter (optional)

- Mod Podge or glue

- ribbon, decals (optional)

- clear coat

I added about 3-4 tablespoons of Epsom salt into a bowl and added some pink glitter to jazz it up a bit. I started painting on the Mod Podge to the desired height of the candle. Then sprinkle your salt/glitter mix onto the candle. Keep doing this all around the candle.

Next, I added some pink, fuzzy string that I had to jazz it up a little more.

Finally, I sprayed the salt/glitter with a clear coat, I'm hoping this will help it stay on longer. Then I added a single white heart to give it even more jazz! This is extremely easy and cheap! I already had the candle and string from about 8 Valentines ago. All I had to buy was the salt. Simple and cute. Enjoy!

I'll be posting this tutorial at these fine blogs:

Fourth of July candles

Here I've made some July 4th candles using Dollar Tree religious candles, a paper placemat, and some paper twist. This set me back a whopping $2!

Here are the candles I used, I have 2 smaller ones that I need to figure out what to do with, I want them to compliment these, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do quite yet.

The paper placemats...

I Mod Podged the paper onto the candles...

Then lastly, I added a paper twist accent.

I really like how these turned out and it was extremely cheap and easy! =]

Wedding Goodies (pt. 2)

Here is a part of our centerpieces. I bought these jar candles at the Dollar Tree and the ribbon half off at Hobby Lobby (my mecca!) haha. Anyways, we are going to put two of each on each table with another taller candle holder, which I'll have to post later (also Dollar Tree) and flowers as well.

Wedding Goodies

I've been trying to make as much as I possibly can for my upcoming wedding. So far, I've made our flower girl pail:Our unity candles and stands (only the main one is shown here):

and the bridesmaids' hair clips:

I've also got our ring bearer pillow done, but I'm being lazy and don't want to get it at the moment, I'll have to post it later. We are starting to stamp and assemble our invitations now. It's been a long time coming, we've been waiting on stamp ink to be half off at Hobby Lobby, because I'm cheap =], and it never was until this past week. So, we started at it. It's been fun so far getting everything done and it's mainly all homemade. Next comes the centerpiece assembly. I'll post that later when I start that. It's pretty much all being made from Dollar Tree items and Goodwill too.

Valentine's Candles

I had these candles just sitting around in the way not getting any use. I almost was going to throw them out, because I was so sick of looking at them. But then I decided, in my new fit of crafting addiction, that I would turn them into something I could use later on. So, that's what I did. I took some old yarn/stringy stuff that I've had for 7 or 8 years and randomly stumbled upon and re-fashioned them. I think they look cute and now I have some more v-day decor, because I was seriously lacking! =]

That's the finished project. Not too elaborate, but now it has a purpose and I can put them away after V-day. Actually, right now I still have them up for Easter. =]
