Valentine's frame
This is kind of cheesy and not that elaborate, but I had these jewels that I found that I'm sure I've had for years upon years. So, I decided to put them to use and since they were all V-day colors, I wanted to make a frame. So, I headed to old faithful -- Dollar Tree! I bought this black frame...
Then added my leftover jewels...
And yes, that's right...it's Joey McIntyre of NKOTB!! My friends and I went to their concert last summer and it was amazing. I just had to put this picture in here. HAHA! Love it!
Fourth of July candles
Here I've made some July 4th candles using Dollar Tree religious candles, a paper placemat, and some paper twist. This set me back a whopping $2!
I Mod Podged the paper onto the candles...
I really like how these turned out and it was extremely cheap and easy! =]
Here are the candles I used, I have 2 smaller ones that I need to figure out what to do with, I want them to compliment these, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do quite yet.

Then lastly, I added a paper twist accent.

Natural wall art
I saw something like this on one of those home improvement shows about 4 or 5 years ago. I printed it off from the website and had it tucked away for when I actually moved out on my own. So, about a year ago I got to re-create this wall art that I had been storing away. Now it's hanging in our bedroom, it would've been so bare without it. There were no instructions, but it was so simple to make. I used natural branches from Hobby Lobby and some floral wire. That's it! Just lay your branches out however you want and start tying the intersections together so the whole piece is sturdy. I absolutely love it, it was easy and is a great piece in our room! =]

Cricut!
Matte re-fashion
I had this awesome picture of my great grandfather, or Pappaw Stamper is what we called him. I put it in this black frame that I bought at Wal-Mart probably 5 or 6 years ago for something like 3 bucks. I had it there with just a plain white matte and about 3 weeks ago decided it needed a sprucing up! Sorry about the flash...I'm not that great and when I turned it off, it didn't get much better.
I just traced the matte onto a scrapbook paper that came in a kit and mod podged it onto the matte. The kit came with little appliques that I used on the matte and the edges of the frame itself.

I thought it looked cute and it was easy/free!!! I always love free!! =]
Here's another one I did about 5 years ago. I took a bunch of scrapbook papers and Valentine's stickers that went along with the papers that I already had, another Wal-Mart clearance frame, and went to town. I thought it was pretty cute. I made it for my then boyfriend as a gift. Now he's my fiance! =] =] =]

Book page wreath
So, my real addiction to crafting start with a book wreath tutorial I found. It seemed easy enough and for only two bucks, it didn't matter to me if I messed up. Luckily, it turned out pretty good for my first time. I couldn't get a great shot of it, but I'm sure you've all seen one to get the idea. My friend just couldn't get why I would mutilate a perfectly good book for this, but I told her it was a Dollar Tree book, so it didn't really count. =]
Easter/Spring wreath
I got this idea from one of the many blogs I've been following, but I can't remember which one. I saved the project on my computer and don't know which blogs it's from now. =[ But if I find it, I'll post a link. This wreath is made of cupcake liners and ribbon. Fairly simple!

So...deep fried pickles...YUM!
This was me when I was about 3 I think. It has nothing to do with the post, I just thought it was awesome. =] I loved my Cool Whip hat!
I ventured to a little restaurant here on campus, Scotty's, and for the first time had deep fried pickle chips! Well, I fell in LOVE with them, but the price was a little steep for what you get, $8 for some fried hamburger pickles. So, my fiance and I tried one night to re-create them, they were alright, but just not what we were looking for. So, Saturday I randomly started to make some coconut shrimp with a recipe I got out of a cookbook I got for Christmas. Well, I thought, well maybe the pickles would be good with this coating.....OMG they were amazing!!! So, we have found almost an exact recipe like the one at Scotty's and for much cheaper! If anyone is interested here it is:
3/4 c flour
3/4 c cornstarch
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp Cajun seasoning
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp garlic powder
3 1/4 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup water
1/4 tsp oil
I lay my pickles out on a paper towel before dipping them, so they can drain a little. Dip 'em, deep fry 'em until golden brown, then drain on a different paper towel. We like to dip ours in ranch dressing, Scotty's also serves it with horseradish but I don't like that. I found that the ranch packets that Hidden Valley makes is the best ranch to use, the buttermilk recipe, not the sour cream one. Anyways...I just wanted to post this, because we're so in love with it, even though it probably has a million calories! =]

Wedding Goodies (pt. 2)
Here is a part of our centerpieces. I bought these jar candles at the Dollar Tree and the ribbon half off at Hobby Lobby (my mecca!) haha. Anyways, we are going to put two of each on each table with another taller candle holder, which I'll have to post later (also Dollar Tree) and flowers as well.
Skeleton key art
I have seen some different art/projects using skeleton keys and I really enjoyed it. I wanted something where I could hang my keys up, so I thought this would be the perfect thing to go along with that.
Altogether I paid $18 for this project. I already had the canvas, which was a picture. I tried to do a mosaic type thing before this, but it didn't end up looking very good. So, I took some scrapbook paper and Mod Podged it onto the canvas. It's not exactly what I wanted to do, I want some type of border, but I don't have anything to use. I got the key holder at Hobby Lobby for half off. But, here it is...I may have to re-vamp it someday, but I just wanted it out of my hair! =]
